Peru: ancient rock engraved with astronomical symbols

According to Andina a stone altar containing ancient petroglyphs dating back to 3,500 to 4,000 years ago was found in Peru at the Archaeological complex of Licurnique.

Archaeologists think that astronomical observatories were engraved on a flat-surface rock, which were used to track stars and therefore to forecast rain fall for crops and human consumption. This means that probably 4000 year-old Peruvian tribes would already guide their daily lives through the stars.

The petroglyphs are still under study but some of them depict some strange beings, don’t you agree?
